[ # ] Who Can Change the World?
August 3rd, 2007 under Barack Obama, Commentary

“There’s no doubt that hip-hop culture moves our young people powerfully. And some of it is not just a reflection of reality…It also creates reality. I think that if all our kids see is a glorification of materialism and bling and casual sex [then] kids are never seeing themselves reflected as hitting the books and being responsible and they are getting an unrealistic picture of what the world is like.” – 2008 Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, Vibe Magazine, September 2007.

Wow…What a marketing scheme. A lot of images projected by the media are for people who can relate to the material. Obamas words sort of proves that more kids need better guidance. I say that this wouldn’t be such a big deal if college education was free and that education was equal, that and if teachers cared more about their students than their pay checks.
